Five Links for Friday

It’s think out loud Friday so, here are some of the interesting things that caught my attention on this beautiful Friday morning and my thoughts:

Flickr Releases Handy Embeddable Slide Show by Marshall Kirkpatrick at ReadWriteWeb: It’s about time! I’ve always thought it was a shame that they have not offered this feature sooner. Not everyone has a Flickr account but everyone enjoys looking at pictures – so why not make it easier for those with accounts to share with those who don’t? I’ll have to try it out soon.

Is Writing Great Content Enough to Build a Successful Blog? by Darren Rowse at ProBlogger: I’ve wondered about this many times myself. It’s the old product vs. marketing debate: what moves items on shelves, the great product or the marketing behind the product?

Viral MarketingSocial Networking is Not Just for Teenagers Anymore by Patrick Everett Tadeo at Pandemic Blog: The virus is spreading, resistance is futile.. ha ha ha… Well we all knew it would catch up with the older folks (24+) soon enough. Just look at what they said about the Internet in 1996 – same as what was said in 2006 about social media.

Viral Marketing: Is it the Flu or are we Infected? by Juan Gutierrez at Pandemic Blog: I just loved the picture, but seriously, one of the reasons why social media is so powerful is because a persons voice can now be heard around the world. That’s power. Go spread the word.

When Is The Best Time To Start A New Blog? a post by Aseem Kishore on DailyBlogTips: Just like there is not a really good time to have a second kid, there is really not a good time to start a new blog. Just do it, you’ll find the time if you love it. Plus you may want to say something on one blog which may not be appropriate on another blog.

Have a great Friday.
