29 May Hey BP, Just Drop a Huge Rock On Top of the Leak and Seal it With Cement
This blog is not focused on the issue of the massive oil leak. However, this blog does pride itself on coming up with simple and innovative solutions to problems. I have demontrated my solution in a simple diagram above. Please tell me why this is not possible.

Posted at 19:49h, 29 MayA more intelligent question would be what type of rock is 75 feet down? A large rock only disperses the main stream to many smaller streams that would get through in no time. keep in mind the pressure and the composition on the sea bed.

Posted at 20:21h, 29 MayThink about it. You're not going to stop a garden hose by putting you're finger on the end. You just turn it into a sprinkler. You need to crimp the hose. Not sure crimp is word, but you get the point.

Posted at 21:38h, 20 JuneI like this idea…..a gigantic piece of granite or something even denser…slowly lowered over the leak. I which more experts would respond to this….haven't a clue as to how fragile the ocean floor is…from the comments seems like it is like the floor is like an eggshell which I find hard to believe….but,….I'm no expert.
My other thought was 'clamping the pipes' in several places…doubt possible as the break appears to be right as they exit the floor.
